Those who are bad at making decisions probably empathize when I say that booking flights is one of the most anxiety-inducing activities there is. Which route’s shortest? What’s closest to the city center? Which can I use miles on? Why are these changing in price from hour to hour?!?!?
But after a week’s worth of hyperventilation I finally buckled down and decided on my travel plans - mostly thanks to the advice of many of you. I’ll spend a couple of nights with a friend in Rome from July 2-4. The days in between still need to be worked out, but hoping to squeeze in two days in Cinque Terre and whirl through Florence before flying out on Sunday. I know Florence isn’t somewhere you’re supposed to whirl through, but I can’t not see it. I’ll meet up with blog reader Veronica (yay!) and then leave from Milan, do a layover in Copenhagen (this is where procrastinating got me in trouble, since I had to waste my Sunday with a layover to save $), and head to Dublin.
Huge huge thanks to all the blog readers who offered couches around Europe and emailed/messaged with suggestions, and especially to Veronica, Mary, and Stephen with whom I exchanged a few short essays on Italy. :) Per reader request, I compiled all of my Italy/Ireland notes in a doc.
Have recommendations or available for a drink in any of the cities above? Reply to my post, leave me a comment, or email me at teresawu at gmail.com. You can also leave me comments directly in my doc. (It’s fun, try it!)
