In April, I emailed 30 friends and told them to visit us for Memorial Day weekend. On Friday, 20 of them drove, flew, bussed, and trained it in for the long weekend from SF, LA, Chicago, Columbus, Philly, and DC. (How lucky am I to have friends who obey?) In turn, we hosted-with-the-mosted in full force. Tacos and margaritas on the Superlounge roof, a yacht cruise around Manhattan, sushi/sake in excess, and too many trips to the chicken & rice carts to count made for my favorite Memorial Day weekend yet.
Even with an apartment of four, things always feel a little emptier after the hurricane of friends have passed. Goodbyes are no fun, but our next reunion is only so far away…
