Today was the kind of day where you get in the car and the leather burns like fire and then 10 minutes into driving the backs of your thighs are perspiring like nobody’s business and then soon that turns into a semi-awkward chafing sensation and then when you exit the vehicle you have to quickly conceal evidence of your Olympian-esque sweating.

In short, it was a gorgeous 90-degree beach day. My brother and his friends are in town, so we got some Mexican grub at the Don Carlos Taco Shop before heading down to the cove. The seals usually lay out on the rocks (in the dark they look like sweet potatoes dotting the terrain) but I guess even they couldn’t tolerate this October heat wave, as I only spotted a couple.
